READING, Pa. – The Keuka College Baseball split at Penn St.-Berks on Saturday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference doubleheader.

Keuka College (10-11, 3-1 NEAC) took the opening game 6-4, but fell in the nightcap 12-0.

Dakota Skinner continued his hot run with four hits on the day for the Wolves.  Jake Redding and Dave Nuzzo each added two hits on the day with a double.

Bryan Johnsen earned his fourth win on the season, going six innings in Game 1. Freshman Dave Verrett struck out a batter in the seventh to earn his third save of the season.

Keuka College 6 at Penn St.-Berks 4

The Nittany Lions struck first with three runs in the first inning and a run in the second. Penn St.-Berks would lead 4-0 going into the fifth inning. Keuka took advantage of a Berks error in the inning as two runs scored on the play. The Wolves later got an RBI single by Tyler Krowiak to make it a one-run game, 4-3. An inning later, Jake Redding tied the game with an opposite field double that scored a run. Then Dakota Skinner hit a two-run single to give the Wolves a 6-4 lead. Johnsen didn't allow a run in the bottom of the sixth and Verrett shut the down in the seventh as Keuka College defeated Penn St.-Berks 6-4 in Game 1.

Lead Wolf: Dakota Skinner led the Keuka College offense with three hits in the opener. He had the go-ahead hit with a two-run single in the sixth and stole a base as well.

Keuka College 0 at Penn St.-Berks 12

The game started scoreless through the first three innings in Game 2 of the doubleheader. However, Penn St.-Berks scored four in the fourth, three in the fifth, and five in the sixth to take a 12-0 lead. Overall, the Nittany Lions out-hit the Wolves 13-3 in the game. Penn St.-Berks would shut out Keuka College in the nightcap, winning the game 12-0.

Lead Wolf: In a game with only three hits for the Green and Gold, Dave Nuzzo had the only extra base with a double for Keuka College.

• Keuka College does hold a 14-11 advantage over the Nittany Lions in conference games

Coming up for Keuka College: The Wolves will conclude their Pennsylvania trip on Sunday with a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference games against Penn St.-Abington. The Nittany Lions won the NEAC regular season last year and hold a 14-3 advantage all-time over Keuka College.
