Wolves Fall on the Road at Hobart College

GENEVA, N.Y. — The Keuka College Baseball team lost on Tuesday at Hobart College 11-4 in a non-conference game.

Jackson Loper had two hits and drove in two runs for Keuka College (9-16, 5-9 Empire 8). Evan Cuba added an RBI double for the Wolves.

The Statesmen quickly took the lead in the third inning as a bunt single and a triple gave Hobart a 1-0 lead. The home team then took advantage of four Keuka College errors in the fourth to score seven runs and take control of the game.

Keuka College got on the board in the fifth. Mike Dutch singled for the Green and Gold. He moved to second with a groundout and then scored on a Hobart error to make it 8-1.

The Wolves added three runs an inning later. Patrick Altpeter and Derek Novicki walked to begin the inning. Evan Cuba then delivered a double to plate Altpeter. After a Grady Kessler walk loaded the bases, Jackson Loper scored a pair on a single to cut the Statesmen lead to 9-4.

Keuka College would be held off the board the rest of the way. Hobart scored a pair of runs late to defeat Keuka College 11-4.

  • The Wolves remain in search of their first victory over Hobart. The two teams have squared off six times in program history
  • DJ Bruni pitched 1.2 innings of hitless relief, striking out a pair

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves are back in action on Wednesday with another non-conference game against a Liberty League opponent. Keuka College will host RIT at Kuhl Field on campus at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
