Spectator & Tailgating Policy

Keuka College encourages fans to support and celebrate our student-athletes while helping create a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for everyone attending our athletics events.

Sportsmanship & Spectator Policy

At Keuka College, we show pride in our student-athletes and their effort. Spectators are encouraged to cheer for and celebrate with our teams. Unsportsmanlike behavior is not condoned.

Unsportsmanlike Behavior Includes

  • Verbal or physical abuse of an official, opposing coach or player, conference or College administrator, or spectator.
  • Intentional incitement of participants or spectators to abusive or violent action.
  • Use of obscene gestures, profanity, or unduly provocative language, including racist or bigoted remarks, toward officials, opponents, administrators, or spectators.
  • Inappropriate criticism of any official or opposing-team personnel.

Venue Expectations

Unsportsmanlike behavior may result in immediate ejection from the venue of competition.

If another spectator is impeding your ability to enjoy a contest, please find the nearest administrator or Campus Safety officer for assistance.

Fans may not pace or remain standing in front of seating areas. Individuals will be asked to sit or stand to the side of the bleachers so they do not disrupt spectators or encroach on the playing surface.

Admission

Keuka College does not charge admission to any regular-season sporting events.

Alcohol & Tobacco

Fans are not permitted to possess or use alcohol or tobacco products in any Keuka College athletic venue.

See the Tailgating Policy below for acceptable alcohol consumption in the Jephson Community Athletic Complex parking lot before home outdoor sporting events.

Only credentialed photographers will be granted field access. Credentials may be requested through the Office of Athletic Communications.

Please clearly state:

  • The date of the contest or contests you wish to photograph.
  • The sport or sports you wish to photograph.
  • The media organization or department you represent, if applicable.

Tailgating Policy

Upon entering the Jephson Community Athletic Complex, fans will see an upper and lower parking lot. The lower lot is available to spectators, at their own discretion, for outdoor grills and the responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages by individuals who are at least 21 years old. Keuka College reserves the right to check identification.

Student Reminder: Keuka College students remain subject to the Student Code of Conduct and must follow all applicable Student Handbook policies, including policies related to disruptive behavior and alcohol consumption.

Timing

Tailgating may begin no earlier than 90 minutes before the start of an event and must end once the event begins.

During & After Events

Tailgating is not permitted during halftime or after the game.

Legal Drinking Age

Alcohol may only be consumed responsibly by individuals who are at least 21 years old.

Cleanup

Individuals are responsible for cleanup and trash removal. Failure to clean the area may result in a future tailgating ban.

Tents & Tables

Tents and tables are permitted but may not interfere with parking. Setups are encouraged under the pavilion or in grass-covered areas.

Respect Others

Amplified music, foul language, disorderly behavior, and conduct that negatively affects other spectators are not permitted.

Signs of public intoxication or disorderly behavior are grounds for removal from the athletic event and may result in notification of local law enforcement.

Spectators are expected to act responsibly and respectfully toward everyone in attendance, including visiting fans.
