Waterfront

Enjoy Keuka Lake from campus with access to the College waterfront, boating equipment, lawn games, and a designated swim area during posted operating hours.

Boating

Kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards are available during operating hours when staffing permits.

Swim Area

The designated swim area is available to visitors during posted hours and must be used according to waterfront rules.

Lawn Games

Enjoy cornhole, Kan-Jam, spikeball, ladder golf, and other outdoor recreation options near the lake.

Waterfront Information

The Keuka College waterfront operates from early spring to early fall each year. Kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards are available to students, faculty, and staff for excursions on the lake.

Keuka College community members may use boating equipment free of charge during operating hours when staffing permits. Personal flotation devices are available and required at all times.

  • Watercraft must stay in eyesight of Keuka College docks at all times.
  • Fishing is permitted off Keuka College docks during daylight hours with a valid fishing license.
  • Non-College community members may rent canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards 48 hours in advance for $15 per boat rental.
  • Rental questions may be directed to Campus Recreation at recreation@keuka.edu .

Swim Area Rules

The swim area is governed by New York State rules and is available only during posted hours of operation. Please follow all posted signage and staff instructions.

  • Never swim alone. A minimum of two adults, 18 years of age or older, must be present whenever the swimming facility is in use.
  • Thre is no substitute for adequate supervision. Children under 18 years of age must always be accompanied by an adult responsible for their safety and behavior.
  • Only use this facility during posted hours of operation and swim only in the designated swimming area.
  • Do not swim under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Shallow water - no diving.
  • In an emergency, notify on-site staff and contact help as soon as possible. An emergency phone is available at the storage shed on the beach area.

Waterfront hours, boating availability, swim area access, and facility use are subject to change based on weather, staffing, campus events, academic breaks, and holidays.
