GAME ONE BOXSCORE GAME TWO BOXSCORE
Junior Gavin Corbin (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) drove in a season-most four runs during game two of Keuka College's baseball doubleheader at Penn State-Berks, but it wasn't enough to help the Storm salvage a split as Keuka was swept by Berks Sunday at the Hintz Athletic Field in Reading, Pa.

Keuka (2-15, 1-7 NEAC) led the first game 1-0, but dropped a pitchers' duel, 2-1 to the host Nittany Lions.

Junior Jeremy Pyszczynski (Alden, NY/St. Mary's) pitched his best game of the year, holding Berks (10-16, 6-2) to two runs on four hits in the complete-game loss.

The Storm took a 1-0 first-inning lead when junior Justyn Schuck (Hammondsport, NY/Hammondsport) walked, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt and scored when sophomore Conner Anderson (Missoula, MT/Sentinel) drew a bases-loaded, one-out walk. With the bases still loaded, Berks starter Logan Kurtz induced an inning-ending double play.

Berks tied the score on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the inning, then took the lead in the second on another sacrifice fly.

With the exception of a pair of Corbin singles in the third and fifth innings, and a single from junior Kyle McVannan (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) in the seventh, Keuka was held hitless the rest of the way and dropped the opening game.

In the nightcap, the Green and Gold once again took an early lead. With one out, Corbin laced a double to left-center field, advanced to third on a groundout and scored when sophomore Jon Borchert (Upper Arlington, OH/Upper Arlington) singled into left field in the top of the first.

The Nittany Lions answered with five runs in the bottom of the inning as the first seven batters successfully reached base. Keuka got two runs back in the second when Schuck and Corbin delivered RBI singles, but Berks scored four times in the bottom of the inning on two RBI singles and a pair of sacrifice fly outs to take a 9-3 lead into the third inning.

Trailing 10-3, Keuka got three of those runs back in the fourth, but Berks tacked on three more runs in the bottom of the inning and led 13-6 heading into the fifth.

With the bases loaded, Corbin knocked in two more runs on an RBI single to pull the Green and Gold within 13-8, but Berks added a run in the bottom of the inning to close out the scoring.

Corbin finished 3-for-5 with four RBI and two runs scored, Schuck was 2-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored and freshman Billy McDermott (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) was 2-for-4 for Keuka, which was out-hit 18-11 in the loss.

The Storm hit the road to play Hamilton College at 5 p.m. Wednesday before returning to host Lancaster Bible at noon Saturday and SUNYIT at noon on Sunday.
