Women's Lax Remains Perfect in NEAC Play

Eleven different student-athletes on Keuka College's women's lacrosse team scored a goal or had an assist to power the Storm to a 20-3 win over the College of St. Elizabeth (N.J.) Saturday afternoon at Penn Yan Academy.

Junior Taylor Smith (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder) equaled her career-high in goals (five) and points (six) and classmate Maggie Bonafede (Churchville, NY/Churchville-Chili) added two goals and five assists as the Storm (5-2, 3-0 NEAC) posted their third straight game with 19 or more goals. It was Smith's third five-goal game this year, and Bonafede's third straight game with seven or more points.

Junior Caroline Arancio (Clinton, NY/Clinton) added a career-high three goals and sophomores Olivia Hudson (Adams, NY/South Jefferson) and Jennifer Burt (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan) each added two goals and one assist for the Storm, who scored the first eight goals and took an 11-1 lead into halftime.

Junior Meghan Storie (Liverpool, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) added two goals while sophomore Kaycee Magurie (Potsdam, NY/Potsdam) added one goal, six draw controls, five groundballs and four caused turnovers and Smith added six groundballs, five draw controls and three caused turnovers for the Green and Gold.

Sophomore Ashley Swarts (Arkport, NY/Arkport) had one goal, four groundballs and four caused turnovers and Hudson had four groundballs as Keuka enjoyed a 27-15 edge in groundballs and forced 20 St. Elizabeth turnovers.

Senior Molly Hogan (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) allowed only one goal and made three saves while junior Korie Fitzgerald (Vestal, NY/Vestal) played the entire second half and allowed just two goals for the Storm.

Keuka hosts NEAC rival Penn State-Abington at 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Penn Yan Academy.
