ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Lacrosse team fell to Nazareth University 17-3 on the road Wednesday afternoon in an Empire 8 game.
Liz Spin led the Wolves with two goals, both coming on free-position attempts, while
Brooklyn Ayers added a goal for Keuka College (2-7, 0-4 Empire 8). In goal,
Sophia Santarsiero came on in relief and posted a collegiate high 11 saves for the Green and Gold.
Nazareth built an early advantage, scoring the first four goals of the game before Spin put the Wolves on the board with a free-position goal midway through the first quarter. The Golden Flyers extended their lead to 8-1 by the end of the opening frame and added two more in the second to take a 10-1 advantage into halftime.
The Wolves broke through late in the third quarter on Ayers' goal, while Spin added another free-position tally early in the fourth. However, Nazareth continued to respond and maintained control throughout. Keuka College finished with three goals on eight shots, while the Golden Flyers held a 38-8 advantage in total shots.
The Wolves will face Russell Sage at home on Saturday, April 11 at 1:00 p.m.
