HOUGHTON, N.Y —  The Keuka College Baseball team split the conference doubleheader between Houghton College.

Keuka College 5 vs Houghton College 4

The Wolves jumped out hot in the second inning to get things going. Donald Nemeth worked the count to take first on a walk. RJ Murphy  singled to right field to have runners on first and second. Matt Vaccaro  worked the count and walked to have bases loaded. Nick Brown cleared the bases with a double to the left center fence. The Wolves would go up 3-0.

The fifth inning Nick Brown led off with a single he would come around to score from Josh Tyron  doubled to left field he advanced to third on a wild pitch. Aaron Simons hit a base hit to score Tyron to extend the Wolves lead 5-0.

The Highlanders added one in the sixth to shorten the Wolves lead. The Highlanders crossed home plate three times during their last at bats but Starting Pitcher Spencer Brown  got a ground ball back at him to go home and Murphy threw to first to get the double play to end the game and take the win 5-4.

Lead Wolf: Nick Brown went a perfect 3-3 at the plate with two singles and a double. He drove in three RBIs and crossed home plate once.

Houghton College 14 vs Keuka College 3

The Highlanders crossed home plate first with a two run home run but the Wolves answered back. Nick Brown started the bottom of the first off with getting hit by a pitch. He was moved to second from Ryan Seales base hit through the right side. Simons singled to center field and Brown scored. Jimmy Griffin followed Simons and Seales came around to score to tie the game at two.

The Highlanders added four runs in the sixth inning to extend the lead 6-2. Nick Brown led things off for the Wolves with a base hit to left center. Tyron ripped a double to center field and Brown came around to score to cut the Highlanders lead in half.

The seventh inning would be the big inning for the Highlanders as they scored eight times during the inning to extend the lead 14-4. This would be enough for the Highlanders as they took game two 14-4.  

Lead Wolf: Nick Brown was 1-2 with a double and a hit by pitch and came around to score two times.

• Keuka College and Houghton are now 5-9 all time and 2-6 at Houghton.
• Nick Browns two doubles today gave him 25 in his career which is now fourth in Keuka College record book.
• Nick Brown hit by pitch in game two is now his 19^th in his career which is third in the Keuka College records books.
• The Baseball team had a total of five doubles today to make 58 doubles this season. The 2022 team is now in fourth place in the Keuka College record book after passing the 2017 team of 55.
• The pitching staff has 161 strikeouts on the season to put them in sixth place on the Keuka College record books.
• Spencer Brown had a total of seven strikeouts in game one to have a total of 47 to put him in sixth place on the Keuka College record books.
