Box Score 2 MARCY, N.Y. – The Keuka College Baseball team dropped a North Eastern Athletic Conference doubleheader on Saturday to SUNY Poly by the scores of 4-3 and 3-2.
Keuka College (15-15-1, 5-7 NEAC) will wrap up their conference schedule on Sunday with a doubleheader at Penn College.
Game 1
The host Wildcats struck first in the opening game with a run in the bottom of the first, but Keuka quickly responded in the top of the second inning. With two outs, John Rizzo, Billy McDermott, and Dave Nuzzo hit three straight singles. Nuzzo's hit scored Rizzo to tie the game.
Keuka pulled ahead in the sixth on a wild pitch, but SUNY Poly tied the game back up in the seventh and took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth.
Tyler Krowiak led the top of the ninth off with a single. With one out, Billy McDermott walked. A single by Nuzzo plated Krowiak and moved the tying run to second base. SUNY Poly would get a pair of strikeouts to escape the inning and preserve the 4-3 conference victory.
Game 2
The Green and Gold came out swinging in the second game. Alec Bowie led the game off with a double down the right field line. A single by Dakota Skinner put runners on the corners and a walk by Brett Fenton loaded the bases with no outs. Senior Kyle Dailey hit an RBI single to plate one run and a groundout by Tyler Krowiak plated a second as Keuka took a 2-0 lead.
The Wildcats got one back in the third, but starting pitcher Kyle Michaud kept SUNY Poly off balance most of the game. The senior struck out eight while throwing the complete game.
With two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Wildcats worked a pair of walks to put the tying run on base. They then got a walkoff triple to score both runs and defeat Keuka College 3-2.
