KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Baseball team scored eight unanswered runs, but it was not enough as they fell to visiting Elmira College in a non-conference game.

Keuka College (12-11) is on the road this weekend for a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference doubleheaders. The Green and Gold will travel to Lancaster Bible College on Saturday. On Sunday, Keuka will be in Washington D.C. as they take on Gallaudet University.

The Soaring Eagles got on the board with a home run in the second inning, but Keuka quickly answered. Tyler Krowiak led the bottom of the second with a double down the left field line. He moved to third on a groundout and scored on a sacrifice fly by Brett Fenton.

Elmira College took the lead back with seven runs in the fourth inning and added two more in the seventh to make it 10-1.

Keuka College began their comeback attempt in the bottom of the seventh. Robert LaRue led the inning off with a single then stole second base. He scored on a single by Tyler Freedman. Keuka loaded the bases two outs. Kyle Colegrove singled to centerfield to plate a pair. Following another walk to reload the bases, Ben Payton was hit by the pitch to force in the run, making it 10-5.

After a scoreless top of the eighth, the Keuka offense got on the board again. Freedman walked and Dakota Skinner beat out an infield single. Justin Torres singled to right to score Freedman. After a walk loaded the bases, another walk by Cameron Reid forced in a run. Back-to-back sacrifice flies by Kyle Colegrove and Joe Marasco plated a pair, making it 10-9.

Elmira worked a walk to start the ninth inning. Their next two batters attempted sacrifice bunts, and reached first due to errors to load the bases. Thomas Fowler got a strikeout, flyout, and strikeout looking to leave the three runners on base and keep it at a one-run game.

In the bottom of the inning, Keuka was able to get a runner on via a two-out walk, but they were unable to tie the game as they fell to Elmira College 10-9.
