KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Lacrosse team lost their final game of the year 16-15 to Alfred University in an Empire 8 game at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.

The Wolves finished the season with a 3-9 record and 0-6 in the Empire 8. Trinity Burton led the Wolves with five total points, scoring four goals and adding an assist. Julia Bauder scored four goals and Sadie Bonetti added a goal and three assists in the loss.

The Saxons scored the first goal of the game 37 seconds in, but the Wolves would take control of the quarter from there. Julia Bauder got the action going for the Green and Gold with a goal. Senior Gabrielle Major gave the Wolves a 2-1 lead, scoring on Senior Day. Major then assists on a goal by Trinity Burton as the Wolves held a 3-1 lead after one.

Keuka pushed their lead to 4-1 on a goal by Brooke Bonetti before Alfred went on a four-goal run to take a 5-4 lead. Sadie Bonetti would set up Madeline Greene for the goal tying the game as the Saxon lead lasted just 27 seconds. That sparked a six-goal run for the Green and Gold to close the half. Keuka College led 10-5 at the half.

Like the first quarter, Alfred scored the first goal of the third quarter, but Keuka responded with a pair of goals to make it 12-6. The Saxons would draw the game closer with four straight to cut the lead to 12-10. Madeline Greene snapped the run with a free position goal, but Alfred answered right back. Julia Bauder got the final tally of the third as the Wolves carried a 14-11 lead into the final quarter.

Alfred University cut the lead to one, scoring a pair of goals in the first three minutes of the fourth. Trinity Burton pushed the lead back to two at 15-13, scoring midway through the quarter. However, Alfred University would score the final three goals of the game, the last coming with 2:54 left to play, and took a 16-15 lead. The Wolves had a pair of chances in the final minutes, but one was saved and the other went high. Alfred gained possession and played the final minutes out as the Saxons defeated the Wolves on Saturday.

• Keuka College is now 9-4 all-time against Alfred University
• Saturday was just the fourth home game against the Saxons. The other nine meetings have been played at Alfred
• Julia Bauder set a new career-high with four goals and Trinity Burton tied her best with four goals
• Keuka College set a new school record with 25 caused turnovers on Saturday. Leading the way was Katie Deatherage with six and Camryn Denick with five
• Jillian McGinley had three caused turnovers giving her 26 on the season. She tied for tenth on the single-season list
• Annaliese Black made six saves. She moved her season total to 81. Playing in goal for the first time in her career, Black finished the season with the ninth-most saves in a year in program history
