Box Score UTICA, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Lacrosse team could not overcome a slow start at Utica University on Saturday as the Wolves lost 17-3 in an Empire 8 matchup.
Madeline Greene scored a pair of goals for Keuka College (3-8, 0-5 Empire 8). Sadie Bonetti added a goal and an assist, and Annaliese Black finished with 11 saves.
Utica University 17 vs. Keuka College 3
The Pioneers jumped all over the Wolves in the first quarter. Utica controlled possession, going 10-12 on draws. Utica outshot Keuka 21-1 in the opening frame. When the dust settled, Utica held an 11-0 lead.
The Wolves struck first in the second as Sadie Bonetti found Madeline Greene for the goal. The margin would hold for most of the quarter until Utica got two more to lead 13-1 at the half.
The Pioneers had a pair of goals in the third quarter. It sandwiched Greene's second of the game, this time coming off of a free position shot. Utica led 15-2 after three.
Once again, a pair of Utica goals sandwiched a Keuka tally. Sadie Bonetti got on the board for the Wolves with an unassisted effort. The Pioneers would see the game out as they defeated Keuka 17-3.

- Keuka College falls to 1-8 all-time against Utica. The Wolves have lost four straight
- 11 saves by Annaliese Black set a new career-high for the sophomore. Black also broke a tie and now stands alone in seventh on the career saves list
- Greene converted Keuka's only free position opportunity of the game. The Wolves defense held Utica scoreless in their five free position shots
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will return home next weekend for their final game of the 2022 season. Keuka College will welcome Alfred University to the Jephson Community Athletic Complex on Saturday, April 30. Before the 1 p.m. game, there will be the annual senior day ceremony honoring the members of the Class of 2022 on this year's women's lacrosse team.
