Box Score 2 HOUGHTON, N.Y. — The Keuka College Softball team lost both games at Houghton College.
The First game of the double header the game went five innings of a score 13-4. The Second game was a pitching duel but the Highlanders took the game 4-3.
Houghton College 13 vs Keuka College 4
The Highlanders would get on the board first in the first inning with one run.
In the second inning the Wolves jumped on the ball. Leading off the second inning Emily VanDelinder singled to the left field she would go to second on passed ball and Joan Carroll worked a walk. Makaela Mills moved the runs up a base. VanDelinder scored on another pass ball to tie the game. The catcher Morgan Mudge singled to left field to score Carroll. Mudge went all the way to third from a throwing error from the catcher. Mudge came around to score off a single from Helena Hill. The damage would be done there as the Green and Gold took the lead 3-1.
The Highlanders then added 10 runs in the second inning and two more in the third to extend the lead 13-3. In the fourth inning Hill led off and came around to score to give the Wolves one more run but that wouldn't be enough as Houghton College took the game 13-4.
Lead Wolf: Catcher Morgan Mudge kept her bat hot during game one. She had one single, one RBI, and scored a run herself.
Houghton College 4 vs Keuka College 3
The Wolves started out the first inning with a single from leadoff batter Helena Hill. Abby Eising hit into a fielder's choice to reach first but Hill would be out at second. The Highlanders pitcher would walk three straight batters to score Eising. Carroll ripped a single through the infield to score Kelsey Mohl to grab the lead 2-0. The Highlanders responded back and tied the game at 2 in the third inning.
The score would stay the same till the fifth inning. With two outs Jordan Cole ripped a single and Mohl smashed a double to the left field fence to score Cole to go up 3-2.
The Highlanders tied the game in the sixth inning at threes. The Wolves last at bats wouldn't be enough as the Highlanders came up to the plate in the bottom of the seventh and walked it off to win 4-3.
Lead Wolf: Starting pitcher Kelsey Mohl played a great game for the Wolves. She allowed eight hits and all four runs and struck out two. She also did the work in the batter's box. The cleanup hitter had one double, one RBI and crossed home plate herself.

- Keuka College and Houghton are not 2-5 all-time.
- The last time Keuka College was at Houghton College Colleen Mooney threw a no hitter in 2018.
