KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Lacrosse team had a record-setting day as the Wolves defeated Wells College 26-4 at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex on Saturday afternoon.

Keuka College (3-8) set a new school record with 26 goals. Will York set a new single-game record with 13 total points as the senior had six goals and seven assists on Senior Day. Fellow senior Seth Spurgeon had a career day as well with six goals and four assists.

After a slow start, the Wolves settled into the game as Will York netted the first goal five minutes in. Less than a minute later, the other half of the senior duo got in on the action with a goal to make it 2-0. The Wolves pushed their lead 5-0. Wells College got a goal in the final minutes, but the Wolves led 5-1 after one.

Will York opened the second quarter with a bang, scoring three straight goals. York then was the facilitator, assisting on goals by Seth Spurgeon, Hayden Coakley, Robert Hill, and finally a man-up goal by Spurgeon. York had a point on seven straight goals as the Wolves pushed their lead to 12-1. Later in the quarter, Spurgeon returned the favor, setting up a pair of York goals as the Wolves led 16-2 at the half.

The duo continued to start the third quarter with Spurgeon scoring on the man-up with York getting the assist. Wells got one back, but the Wolves closed the quarter scoring seven straight. Keuka carried a 24-3 lead into the final quarter.

Ian Rickard scored the first goal of the fourth quarter to tie the Keuka record for most goals scored by the team in a game. Wells got their fourth on the man-up, but then Matt Jerman broke the record with the 26th goal of the game. The Wolves would control the ball the rest of the game as Keuka won their final home game of the season, defeating Wells College 26-4.

• Keuka College remains unbeaten in 13 games all-time against Wells College
• To go with the school record 26 goals, Keuka had 20 assists (t3rd) for 46 total points, second-most in program history
• York's school-record 13 points came from six goals and seven assists. It tied for the second-most assists in a game and set a new career-high
• Seth Spurgeon finished with six goals and four assists for 10 points, also ranking in the top ten for most points in a game
• Spurgeon added 14 ground balls, tying for third-most. Also with 14 was Stephen Baier. A majority of Baier's work came from the faceoff X as he won 20 faceoffs, tying for third-most in program history
• Senior Logan Katko moved to ninth on the career caused turnover list
• Seth Spurgeon also overtook fourth on the career faceoff list and jumped to sixth on the career ground ball list
• AJ Golden and Robert Hill each scored their first career goal on Saturday

Up Next for Keuka College: The Green and Gold will close the 2022 season on the road next weekend. Keuka College will travel to Alfred University to take on the Saxons on Saturday afternoon.
