Box Score KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Lacrosse team fell on a snowy Wednesday afternoon to Lycoming College 13-5 in a non-conference game at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.
Chris Bellanca and Seth Spurgeon each had a pair of goals for Keuka College (1-1). Brandon MacDonell added three assists in the loss.
Lycoming College 13 at Keuka College 5
The Warriors struck first in the opening minutes, but the Wolves responded with a goal by Bellanca to tie the game. The Warriors responded with four straight to take a lead over the Wolves. Chris Bellanca snapped the run with two minutes left in the quarter, making it 5-2, but the Warriors scored with 13 seconds left to take a 6-2 lead after one.
The late tally by the visitors provided a spark as they carried the momentum into the second, scoring four in the quarter to build a 10-2 advantage. The Green and Gold snapped the run just before halftime as Brandon MacDonell set up Seth Spurgeon for the goal with 36 seconds left. Lycoming led 10-3 at the break.
The third was a low-scoring quarter for both teams. Lycoming added a man-up goal midway through the frame, and that would be the only goal of the 15 minutes. The Wolves managed just three shots in the third and trailed 11-3 going into the fourth.
The two teams alternated goals in the final quarter, with each team scoring a pair. The tallies for the Wolves came from Spurgeon and Will York, but Lycoming College saw the game out for the 13-5 victory.

- Keuka College is now 2-4 all-time against Lycoming College
- It was the first time the two schools met since the 2003 season
- Seth Spurgeon had a strong all-around game for the Wolves. To go with his two goals, the senior went 11-14 on faceoffs and collected a game-high nine groundballs
- Robert Hill led the Keuka defense with six caused turnovers, a career-high
- Gavin Britton made his first career start in goal. Playing in the first half, the freshman made six saves. Dylan Hoad played the second in goal for the Wolves and made five saves
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves remain at home for a tough test this weekend. Keuka College will welcome SUNY Brockport to the Jephson Community Athletic Complex on Saturday. The Wolves and the Golden Eagles are set to square off at 4 p.m.
