Keuka Softball Ends Florida Trip with Two Losses

CLERMONT, FLA— Keuka College softball lost both games today to end the week in Florida for Spring training.

Keuka College (0-6) lost up the first game to Miami-Hamilton and lost in five innings to Bates College 11-3.

Miami-Hamilton 10 vs. Keuka College 1

Miami-Hamilton came out in the first inning and scored two runs. They would continue to add runs in the third inning to go up 4-0. The Wolves started off the inning with a base hit from Jordyn Fargo, Makaela Mills ripped a triple to the fence to score Fargo to shorten the Miami-Hamilton score to 4-1.

Starting pitcher Kelsey Mohl  would take control in the circle to not let them score until the seventh inning. Miami-Hamilton scored six runs in the seventh inning to give themselves some insurance. The Green and Gold wouldn't be able to fight back as Miami –Hamilton took the victory 10-1

Lead Wolf: The only RBI the Wolves could get was from Makaela Mills and she was 2-3 at the plate.

Bates College 11 vs. Keuka College 3 5 innings

Bates College jumped on the board first with three runs in the first inning. They continued to add five runs in the second and three in the third to extend their lead 11-0.

The fourth inning would be the Wolves turn to get on the board. Fargo reached first on an error followed by a walk to Joan Carroll. Fargo reached home an error from Bates College. Carroll and Mills came around to score from a fielder's choice.

This was enough for Bates College as they ended the game in five innings.

Lead Wolf: Makaela Mills was 1-2 at the plate with 1 RBI and she also came around to score.

Up Next for Keuka College: The Keuka College Softball team flies back to Keuka Park tomorrow and they are back in action at home on Wednesday, March 30 to face Elmira College.
