Keuka College Softball Swept First day in Florida

LEESBURG, FL — The Keuka College Softball team lost a pair of games to open up their season and spring trip in Florida.

Keuka College (0-2) lost the first game to Allegheny College 20-3 and lost to Hamline College 3-0.

Allegheny College 20 vs Keuka College 3

Allegheny College came out swinging in the first inning, the visitors would capitalize seven runs during their first at bat. At the top of the second the Gators added three runs to their score to make the score 10-0. The Gators kept the bats swinging in the top of the third to extend their lead 18-0.

In the bottom of the fourth the Wolves would load the bases with base hits from Jenna Villa, Shauna Pimm, and a walk from Morgan Mudge but the Wolves couldn't execute.

The Gators kept adding to their score taking advantage of the Wolves errors to go ahead 21-0. The Wolves had one more at bat to shorten the Gators lead. Jordan Cole ripped a double to the fence to get the Wolves on the board. The Green and Gold continued to get on the bored but the Gators score was too far for the Wolves as they took the Victory 21-3.

Lead Wolf: Senior Jordan Cole had the double to the fence to get the first run on the board. The senior went 2-3 at the plate with singles and a double and one RBI.

Hamline College 3 vs Keuka College 0

Hamline College got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning and added another in the third. Emily VanDelinder took control in the circle for the Wolves to hold the Pipers by two. The Wolves bats would start to come alive in the fifth inning but the pipers defense wouldn't them score.

In the bottom of the fifth the Pipers added one more to extend their lead 3-0. In the top of the sixth the Wolves would load the baes by a walk from VanDelinder and Kelsey Mohl and base hit by Jordan Fargo but the Piper defense would hold the Green and Gold at zero. The Pipers would hold the Green and Gold and take the win 3-0.

Lead Wolf: Stater pitcher Emily VanDelinder went the mile in the circle for the Wolves. She had one strikeout and allowed one run. She had six hits off her but let her defense do the work behind her.
