Box Score KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Lacrosse team outscored Medaille College 4-1 in the final quarter, but it was not enough as the Mavericks defeated the Wolves 11-9 at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex on Friday afternoon.
Keuka College (1-1) was led by Sadie Bonetti with four total points, scoring two goals and adding two assists. Also adding a pair of goals in the game were Grace Morse and Brooke Bonetti.

The two teams squared off on Friday in a back-and-forth battle. The Mavericks scored first but the Wolves tied the game up 27 seconds later with a goal by Sadie Bonetti. Bonetti then set up Madeline Greene for the tally as the Wolves took a 2-1 advantage. The Mavericks thought they tied it up with an 8-meter shot, but the goal was disallowed for an illegal stick. However, the visitors would take advantage of a Keuka card and score on the man-up with 14 seconds left in the quarter. The game would be tied 2-2 after one.
Keuka College took back the lead 1:03 into the second on a goal by Brooke Bonetti with Greene getting the assist. Medaille scored two straight to take the lead 4-3. Following their fourth goal, Grace Morse won the draw, raced down the field, and scored 14 seconds after the Medaille goal to tie the game back up. Medaille College had an answer and scored the final goal of the first half to take a 5-4 lead into the break.
The Mavericks widened the gap in the third quarter. Medaille outscored Keuka 5-1 in the frame. The lone goal for Keuka came on the man-up as Greene set up Morse for the goal. Medaille led 10-5 going into the fourth.
The Wolves did not go away as the Green and Gold rallied in the fourth. Gabrielle Major opened the scoring in the quarter. Medaille answered, but Keuka answered right back as Julia Bauder scored less than a minute later. Brooke Bonetti followed that with a goal. After six minutes without any goals, Sadie Bonetti kept the run going with her second to cut the lead to two, 11-9 with 3:14 left to play. The Wolves won the ensuing draw but turned it over. On Medaille's possession, Annaliese Black made a save with two minutes left to play. The clear attempt for the Wolves was turned over and Medaille thought they put the game away with a goal with 1:45 left, however, it was disallowed for a second time due to an illegal stick, giving the Wolves life. Unfortunately for the Wolves, they turned the ball back over to the Mavericks with 1:03 left and the visitors saw the game out for the 11-9 victory.

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will begin preparation for their first road game of the season next week. Keuka College will travel to Cazenovia College on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, to face the Wildcats in a non-conference game.
