Box Score PITTSFORD, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Lacrosse team lost on Thurdsay night to nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College 25-3 in the semi-finals of the Empire 8 Lacrosse Tournament.
Keuka College finished the season with an 0-5 record. Kasey Gallina scored two goals for the Wolves and Jared Hurlbutt made 16 saves in goal.
#11 St. John Fisher College 25 vs. Keuka College 3 – Empire 8 Tournament – First Round
The host Cardinals got on the board first, but the Wolves responded five minutes in. Kasey Gallina drove through the defense and beat the goalie to tie the game at 1-1. St. John Fisher added goals in the quarter. Jared Hurlbutt made six saves in the frame but the Cardinals led 5-1 after the first.
St. John Fisher College put the game away in the second. Despite six more saves from Hurlbutt in the quarter, the Cardinals outscored the Wolves 12-0 to lead 17-1 at the half.
Both teams struggled for possession in the third as Keuka and St. John Fisher both committed ten turnovers in the half. The Cardinals added a pair of goals in the third. Keuka College scored with under a minute left in the quarter as Kasey Gallina got his second of the game. It was a man-up goal for the Wolves with Nicolas Pipher getting the assist, but St. John Fisher carried a 19-1 lead into the final quarter.
Will York scored the lone goal of the fourth for Keuka College. St. John Fisher would continue onto the 25-3 victory.
