UTICA, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Lacrosse team lost at Utica College 20-4 in the first round of the Empire 8 Tournament on Tuesday night.

Keuka College ends its season with a 1-5 record. Sadie Bonetti had a hand in all four goals for the Wolves, scoring three and adding an assist against the Pioneers.

#3 Utica College 20 vs. #6 Keuka College 4– Empire 8 Tournament – First Round

The Pioneers got the opening goal off of a free position shot one minute in. Keuka College had a quick response, however. Sydney Bloom got the draw control and worked with Sadie Bonetti. Bonetti would set up Bloom for the goal 38 seconds following the Utica tally to tie the game at 1-1. Utica netted the next four goals of the game before Sadie Bonetti scored her first of the night to make it 5-2. The Pioneers would go on a run, scoring seven straight to grow their lead. Bonetti scored her second of the night to stop the run, but Utica got the last two of the half to lead 14-3 at the break.

The pace slowed in the second half. Utica College scored the first five of the half. Sadie Bonetti completed the hat trick with a goal with 5:35 left to play, but Utica outscored Keuka College 6-1 in the second to win the first round game 20-4.

• Tuesday was the first-ever Empire 8 Tournament game for the women's lacrosse team
• The Wolves have made the postseason in 11 of the last 12 conference tournaments played
• Keuka College is 1-7 all-time against Utica College
• It was the second straight game with a hat trick for Sadie Bonetti
• Sydney Bloom tied for the team lead with four draw controls. Bloom became just the fifth player in program history to surpass 100 career draw controls
• Victoria Castiglia made eight saves in goal for the Wolves. Castiglia moved to ninth on the career saves list at Keuka College
