Box Score ONEONTA, N.Y. — The Keuka College Field Hockey team finished their 2021 season on Saturday with a 3-1 loss at Hartwick College.
Keuka College closed the year with a 6-10 record, going 2-6 in their first season in the Empire 8 Conference. The six wins for the Wolves tied the 2018 team for most in program history.

The Hawks wasted little time getting on the board on Saturday. Hartwick College scored 56 seconds in for the lead. Play was slanted in Hartwick's direction in the first. Following the goal, Hartwick had five shots and a corner, but Megan Makowski stopped the shots on goal to keep the Hawks lead at one after the first quarter.
It was Keuka's turn to strike fast in the second quarter, besting Hartwick's effort by one second. Kirstin Billings found McKenzie Hoyt with a pass. Hoyt got around the defender and put her shot inside the left post to tie the game at 1-1, 55 seconds into the second quarter.
The third quarter followed the same script. Hartwick regained their lead 82 seconds into the second half as a long shot found its way in off of a corner attempt for the Hawks. Makowski added a pair of saves for the Wolves, but Keuka was held without a shot in the third and Hartwick carried a 2-1 lead to the final quarter.
Hartwick added an insurance goal with five minutes left to play. The initial shot was stopped by a defensive save by Jillian McGinley, but Hartwick hit in the rebound. The Hawks controlled play in the final minutes to see out the 3-1 conference victory on Saturday.

- Freshman Kirstin Billings finished strong, recording a point in each of her final four games this season

- The Wolves showcased their defense in their first season in the Empire 8 Conference. The Green and Gold allowed just 40 goals this season, setting a new program record.
