Keuka College Tops Medaille 17-6 in Women's Lacrosse

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Lacrosse team remained undefeated as they defeated Medaille College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference game at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex on Sunday.

Keuka College (8-0, 2-0 NEAC) was led by Madelaine Taylor with five goals and a pair of assists. Sydney Bloom scored three goals and added four assists for the Wolves. Kendall Neuberger finished with a four-point game, two goals and two assists, leading a group of four Wolves with two goals in the game.

Keuka College took the lead 50 seconds into the game as Madelaine Taylor set up Sydeny Bloom for the goal. That was followed by two more goals for the Wolves as they built a 3-0 lead. Medaille got on the board just over five minutes in, but the Wolves responded with four more goals as they led 7-1. However, Medaille would outscore Keuka College 4-1 over the final 15 minutes of the first half. Keuka College remained ahead 8-5 at the half.

Defense prevailed in the second half. Keuka College forced a pair of shot clock violations against Medaille in the opening minutes of the second. Abigail Wood got the first goal of the second half with 20:07 left in regulation. Keuka College continued with tough defense. In goal, Janelle Thomas made three saves on four shots in the half. Keuka College would build a 15-5 lead over the Mavericks before Medaille scored their first goal of the half with 2:06 left to play. The Wolves continued onto the 17-6 conference victory.

Up Next for Keuka College: The Green and Gold return to the field next weekend as they travel to Wells College to face the Express in a conference game. The Wolves have won 10 straight against the Express, including an 18-9 victory last season.
