Women's Soccer Defeats Gallaudet 7-0

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Keuka College Women's Soccer team defeated Gallaudet University 7-0 on Sunday on the road in a North Eastern Athletic Conference game.

Keuka College (7-3, 6-0 NEAC) got a hat trick from junior Emily McGuigan. Adding goals for the Green and Gold was Julia Oglesby, Sierra Barker, Grace Wolf, and Katherine Kretchmer.

The Wolves struck first on Sunday as Emily McGuigan found the back of the net 6:29 into the game with the Bison. The Wolves would control the play as they outshot Gallaudet 13-2 in the half. In the 18th minute, Danielle DeSimone sent a cross in from the left and found the head of Julia Oglesby. The freshman nodded it home for the 2-0 lead. With less than 10 minutes left in the frame, the Wolves added a pair of goals. Off of a corner and the ball going off the crossbar, Sierra Barker collected the loose ball and scored to make it 3-0. Emily McGuigan then gave the Wolves a 4-0 halftime lead as she took the pass from Amy Sedita and went low on the Gallaudet keeper.

Coming out in the second half, Keuka College continued to extend their lead. Oglesby set up McGuigan who went high over the keeper to complete the hat trick, making it 5-0. In the final minutes of the game, freshmen Grace Wolf and Katherine Kretchmer got into the action with their first collegiate goals as the Wolves defeated Gallaudet University 7-0.

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will step out of conference play this Wednesday as they host Lycoming College at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex. It will be the seventh all-time meeting between the two schools. Keuka has a 5-1 advantage overall, but Lycoming topped the Wolves 2-0 last season.
