KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — Senior defender
Peyton Steates from the Keuka College Women's Soccer team was named to the Empire 8 Women's Soccer Tomorrow's Leaders team on Tuesday.
Steates worked herself back from a season-ending injury last season to play in 14 games for the Wolves in her senior season. She started ten of her final 11 games. The defender broke through with a goal, the first of her career, in Keuka's 3-1 victory at SUNY Poly.
On occupational therapy major, Steates has excelled in the classroom too over her time at Keuka College. She has been named to multiple Empire 8 President's Lists as well as Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators.
Steates was one of 12 student-athletes honored by the conference. From the Conference's release, "This team honors a student-athlete who has emerged as a leader not only on the field of play, but in the classroom and in the community. In addition, they 'compete with honor and integrity' and have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen."
