Keuka College Defeats Medaille 15-6 in Men's Lacrosse

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — 11 different Wolves scored as the Keuka College Men's Lacrosse team defeated Medaille College 15-6 on Thursday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference game at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.

Keuka College (8-5, 4-3 NEAC) got three goals apiece from Brandon Clark and Andrew Burns. Mark Shattuck finished with a game-high five points. The sophomore had one goal and added four assists for the Wolves.

Keuka College 15 vs. Medaille College 6

The Wolves took the early lead on Thursday against the Mavericks. Dillon Springer scored his first goal of the season two minutes in for the Wolves. The Green and Gold would score five straight before the Mavericks got on the board. Freshman Kurt Eschner capped the scoring with his first goal of his career as the Wolves held a 6-1 lead after the first quarter.

The Green and Gold added three more goals in the second quarter against just two from the Mavericks. Keuka College led 9-3 at the half.

The Mavericks scored the first goal of the second half, but the Wolves responded with four goals. Andrew Burns scored a pair for the Green and Gold. Dan Blaessig and Brandon Clark each added tallies as Keuka College carried a 13-4 lead into the fourth quarter.

Brandon Smith scored for the Wolves to open the fourth. The teams would trade goals, tying the quarter at 2-2. Keuka College would continue onto the 15-6 victory.

  • The Wolves have won the last 10 meetings
  • Keuka College controlled possession in the game, causing 25 Maverick turnovers. Keuka College finished with a 41-18 advantage in groundballs
  • Andrew Burns scored his 91st career goal, tying Dan Barry '98 for tenth on the Keuka College career goals list
  • Jake Carlson went 15-18 at the faceoff spot. He now has 134 wins this year, fifth most in program history
  • Freshman Colin Mix made two saves, playing the first half in goal for the Wolves, to earn his first career win

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will close the regular season at home on Saturday as Keuka College hosts Wells College at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex. Saturday will also be Parents' and Senior Day. There will be a special pregame ceremony to honor our families as well as the Men's Lacrosse Class of 2018.
