SUNY Poly Downs Keuka College in Women's Lacrosse

Box Score

MARCY, N.Y. – The Keuka College Women's Lacrosse team fell to conference-leading SUNY Poly 17-7 on Saturday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference game.

Keuka College (3-8, 1-4 NEAC) will remain on the road on Sunday as they play at Medaille College.

Morgan Bruno scored three times and added an assist for Keuka. The four points gives her 100 in her career, the 10th player in program history to reach that plateau. Also scoring for Keuka on Saturday was Ashley Appell, Samantha Stanio, Sydney Forshay, and Maura Gosson. Alyna Thayer made 14 saves in the loss.

SUNY Poly jumped out to a fast 4-0 lead over the Green and Gold. Bruno got Keuka on the board to stop the run, but the Wildcats scored seven seconds later to regain the four-goal margin. Bruno found the back of the net for a second time, making it 5-2, but SUNY Poly would outscore Keuka College 7-1 over the final 20 minutes of the half. SUNY Poly led 12-3 at the break.

Sydney Forshay scored 45 seconds into the second half. That started a string of trading goals with SUNY Poly. They answered, then Ashley Appell had a response. The Wildcats scored again, and that was followed by a goal by Maura Gosson. Bruno would complete the hat trick for Keuka but it was not enough as they fell to SUNY Poly 17-7.
