KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – Junior goalie Jacob Wood made a school-record 25 saves, but it was not enough as Keuka College fell to the College at Brockport 9-4 in Men's Lacrosse on Saturday.

Keuka College (2-1) has a bit of a break before their next game. The Green and Gold will next face Utica College on Wednesday, March 23 at 4pm at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.

Brendan King netted a pair of goals in the game. Senior Matt Beebe had a team-high three points, scoring a goal and adding a pair of assists. Andrew Burns also found the back of the net for the Green and Gold.

Keuka College got out to a fast start on Saturday. Matt Beebe set up Brendan King for the goal less than two minutes into the game for the early lead. With 2:10 left in the quarter, Zach Dempsey passed the ball off to Andrew Burns for the goal and 2-0 advantage. Wood made six saves in the first 15 minutes and Keuka led 2-0 after one.

Brockport got on the board early in the second and were able to tie the game with just under three minutes left in the half on a man-up situation. The Golden Eagles out-shot Keuka 22-5 in the frame, but wood saved 14 of the 16 shots on goal to hold Brockport at two goals. Ryan Waldron found Matt Beebe for the goal to give Keuka a 3-2 lead at halftime.

The Golden Eagles controlled the ball in the third quarter and made Keuka College pay. They held an 11-2 advantage in shots, five of which found the back of the net, and Brockport led 7-3 after three quarters.

Brendan King opened the fourth with a goal, once again set up by Beebe, but Brockport was able to control the ball, winning all four face-offs in the quarter, and started to run down the clock. The Golden Eagles would add a pair of goals to widen the margin and secure the 9-4 victory.
