Junior Matt Beebe (Syracuse, N.Y./LaFayette) added two assists, and senior Cory Gray (Seneca Castle, N.Y./Midlakes) and freshman Zach Dempsey (Cleveland, N.Y./Central Square) each added goals in the loss for Keuka (0-2).
Senior Eric Saltrelli (Webster, N.Y./Webster Schroeder) stopped 14 saves for the Wolfpack, who were outshot 55-27 by the Saxons (7-0).
Sophomore Dustin Springer (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) collected four groundballs and caused two turnovers, while senior Isaiah Nalls (Niagara Falls, N.Y./Niagara-Wheatfield) and junior Brendan King (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) each collected four groundballs in the loss.
The Saxons won 18 of 25 faceoffs and were led by Nicolas Wood (six goals) and Jake Lynch (five goals, three assists).
Wood and Lynch scored goals in the opening minute to stake the Saxons to a 2-0 lead, but Voigt's unassisted tally sliced the deficit in half with 11:42 remaining in the first quarter.
Alfred tacked on three more goals to seize a 5-1 lead, but Pfeiffer found the back of the net with nine seconds left in the opening quarter as Keuka went into the second trailing 5-2.
Beebe fed Voigt for a goal 1:05 into the second to trim the lead to 5-3, but Alfred responded with an 8-0 run and pulled away for the win.
The Saxons blanked the Wolfpack for 29:21, including the whole third quarter, to earn the win.
Keuka hosts Bryn Athyn at noon Friday at Penn Yan Academy in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opener. Keuka is the four-time defending NEAC champions.
