Softball Completes Season Sweep of Caz

Keuka College's softball team completed a season-long sweep of the Cazenovia Wildcats Friday afternoon.

The Storm (8-6, 8-2 NEAC) swept the Wildcats (2-22, 2-8) by scores of 17-2 and 6-2 in eight innings at Veterans' Field in Cazenovia, N.Y.

Sophomore Haley Jordan (Auburn, NY/Auburn) drove in a career-high four runs and doubled twice and juniors Montana McDonald (Romulus, NY/Romulus) and Deliane Lessard (Rochester, NY/Genesee Community College) drove in a pair of runs in game one.

Lessard also walked twice and scored twice, freshman Ally Muller (Bath, NY/Haverling) was 2-for-4 with an RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base and junior Jill Hart (Cowlesville, NY/Iroquois) added an RBI double for the Green and Gold.

Sophomore Kelly Proper (Silver Springs, NY/Letchworth) added a run-scoring sacrifice fly and junior Brooke Lovell (Arkport, NY/Arkport) added an RBI and a stolen base. Classmate Danielle Gravel (Sidney, NY/Sidney) went 2-for-2 with an RBI and also pitched the first three innings before giving way to freshman Liz Warren (Elmira Heights, NY/Thomas A. Edison), who did not allow a run over the final two innings.

In the nightcap, Jordan plated the winning run on an RBI single in the eighth. Jordan finished 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored, Proper was 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored and Hart was 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Lovell added a run-scoring sacrifice fly, Muller was 2-for-3 and Lessard was 2-for-4 with a double and a stolen base for the Storm.

Warren limited Cazenovia to five singles while striking out six. She allowed only two unearned runs and improved to 5-2 on the year despite five errors from the Green and Gold.

Keuka hosts Morrisville State at 1 p.m. Saturday on Parents' Day, and rival SUNYIT at 1 p.m. Sunday on Senior Day.
