Box Score Senior Nicole Sharick (Corfu, NY/Pembroke) and junior Jessica Bandrowski (Center Moriches, NY/Center Moriches) each scored twice as the Keuka College women's soccer team blanked Wells College, 5-0 Saturday afternoon in Aurora, N.Y.
Sharick and Bandrowski each recorded their second two-goal games of the season while juniorStephanie Havens (Unadilla, NY/Unatego) added her second goal in as many games to power the Storm (2-3, 2-1 North Eastern Athletic Conference).
Following a scoreless first 20 minutes, Sharick put the Storm ahead 1-0 off a nice feed from sophomore Ashley Swarts (Arkport, NY/Arkport).
Sixteen minutes later, senior Sarah Capek (Elmira, NY/Horseheads) played a ball to Sharick, who extended the lead to 2-0 on a score in the 37th minute.
Leading 2-0 heading into the second half, Bandrowski scored back-to-back goals to put away the Express (1-4, 0-3 NEAC). Bandrowski's first goal came just 1:17 into the second half, and she tacked on an insurance goal in the 78th minute for a four-goal lead.
Exactly one minute later, Havens got into the scoring act with an unassisted goal, and the Storm cruised to the win. Sophomore Marriah Gough (Oneida, NY/Stockbridge Valley) made five saves to earn her first collegiate shutout.
The Green and Gold outshot Wells 18-3 in the first half and 32-11 for the game.
Keuka is off until the weekend, when it travels to Penn State-Harrisburg for a 1 p.m. game on Saturday, Sept. 22 and to Gallaudet for a 12 p.m. contest Sunday, Sept. 23
