Dr. Arthur F. Kirk, Jr. Athletics Hall of Fame
Dr. Crystal Gips, trustee emerita, has made an extraordinary impact on Keuka College for more than six decades as a student-athlete, trustee, and philanthropist. As a student in the 1960s, she helped establish women's basketball as a club sport and was a member of the pioneering team that earned a memorable one-point victory over Cornell University while playing in Hegeman Hall. In addition to basketball, she competed in field hockey and volleyball, exemplifying the leadership, determination, and school spirit that would define her lifelong commitment to the College.
Following her graduation, Dr. Gips continued to shape the future of Keuka College through distinguished service and extraordinary generosity. She served on the Board of Trustees from 2011 to 2026, including as Chair of the Board, providing visionary leadership during a transformative period in the College's history. She played a pivotal role in advancing the College's strategic priorities, strengthening philanthropic support, and championing transformational campus projects, including improvements to the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center. Through her leadership, philanthropy, and unwavering dedication, Dr. Gips has helped ensure that generations of Keuka College students, including countless student-athletes, will continue to thrive.
