KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Field Hockey team lost at home on Saturday, falling to Russell Sage College 3-1 in an Empire 8 Conference game at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.
Khadeeja Reed made nine saves in goal for Keuka College (0-7, 0-3 Empire 8).
Emma Mantione scored in the final minute for the Wolves.
Russell Sage College 3 at Keuka College 1
Russell Sage came out and controlled the play at Keuka College on Saturday. The Gators held possession, but the Wolves did a good job in limiting their chances. Shots were 3-0 in favor of Russell Sage. Unfortunately, the Gators got on the board in the final minutes of the first to lead 1-0 after one.
They quickly turned it around and scored minutes into the second to double their lead.
Khadeeja Reed went on to make five saves in the frame to keep the deficit at two by halftime.
Russell Sage added a goal in the third to take control of the game. It would go down to the final minute of the game before the Wolves got their first shot. However, Keuka College would take advantage of it. As the clock ticked down,
Brianna Broadwell dribbled into the circle and found
Emma Mantione in front of goal. The senior tipped it in with six seconds left for the Keuka College goal, but the Wolves would fall in the game 3-1.

- The all-time series between the Wolves and the Gators is now locked even at 4-4. Saturday was Keuka's first loss to Sage at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex
- It was Emma Mantione's second goal of the season. It was her first multi-goal season after scoring one goal in each of her first three seasons at Keuka College
- Reed's nine saves moved her season total to 72, placing her at tenth on the single-season saves list at Keuka College
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will remain at home on Wednesday as they host Houghton University in an Empire 8 Conference game. The Wolves fell to the Highlanders 3-1 last season and will be looking for their first-ever win against Houghton.
