The visitors came out fast on Wednesday, scoring two goals in the opening 5:21 of the game. Houghton outshot Keuka 5-0 in the first to lead 2-0 after the first.

The Highlanders added a goal to open the second quarter. The Wolves started with the ball and built possession against Houghton. The Green and Gold were able to get a corner opportunity and got the ball to the front of the net but were unable to get it past the goalie. The Highlanders regained possession of the frame, but the Keuka College defense did a good job in limiting opportunities. The margin remained three at the halftime break.

Houghton continued to push the Wolves and added two more goals in the third. Keuka had a chance as Paige Bull went on a full-field run and brought the ball into the circle. However, the Highlanders would stop the attack and regain possession. Houghton would take the ball down and find the back of the goal for a 6-0 advantage.

The Wolves got a corner chance early in the fourth. Keuka worked the ball to the near post, but a diving stop by the goalie kept Keuka off the board. Houghton added a tally in the fourth to close out the game with a 7-0 victory over the Wolves.

KC Notes:
  • Wednesday was just the second time in the 11-game series that Keuka College has been shutout by Houghton; however, the Wolves are 0-11 against the Highlanders all-time
  • Clark played the final 21 minutes in goal for her first collegiate experience. She made four saves and allowed just one goal
  • Ashley Pospiech made a defensive save for the Wolves. It was the second of the season and seventh of her career
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves have the weekend off and will return to the field on Saturday, October 10 when they play at Utica University. Keuka College was originally supposed to play at Alfred University this weekend, but game was cancelled as the Saxons cancelled their season.
