ONEONTA, N.Y. — The Keuka College Softball team got a two-run home run from
Olivia Flynn in game one and a two-run shot from
Hailey Jasinski in game two as the Wolves swept an Empire 8 doubleheader against Hartwick College.
Flynn's home run accounted for all the scoring for Keuka College (6-17, 4-10 Empire 8) in a 2-1 victory over the Hawks. The home run by Jasinski later gave the Wolves the lead in game two as they topped Hartwick 5-2 in the nightcap.
Keuka College 2 at Hartwick College 1 – Game 1
Flynn started in the circle for the Wolves, and both pitchers started strong in game one.
Giana Mruczek led off the third inning for the Green and Gold by reaching on the error.
Olivia Flynn then provided the first hit of the game for either team as she drove the ball over the fence for her first home run of the season to give the Wolves a 2-0 lead.
Hartwick would get their first hit in the bottom of the frame, but catcher
Alexis Kopetchny quickly erased her, throwing her out trying to steal second.
Back-to-back doubles in the sixth brought a run in for the Hawks and put the tying run on second base, but Flynn got a groundout to end the inning.
Another double by Hartwick in the seventh put pressure on Flynn and the Keuka College defense. But Flynn would get a strikeout for the second out of the inning. Kopetchny again delivered for the Green and Gold as she threw out the Hartwick runner trying to steal third to end the game with Keuka winning 2-1.
Keuka College 5 at Hartwick College 2 – Game 2
Hartwick struck first in game two as after some Hawks hits, the Wolves traded outs for runs as Hartwick scored on a pair of groundouts in the inning for the 2-0 advantage.
The Wolves got on the board in the third.
Olivia Flynn doubled for the Green and Gold and moved to third on a wild pitch. She then scored on a sacrifice bunt by
Gabby Glanville to make it 2-1.
Hailey Jasinski followed with a double, but she would be stranded on second.
Haley Mascho led off the fourth with a single and moved up with a wild pitch. After a pair of outs, the Wolves converted the leadoff hit as
Lena Ramos singled to score Mascho and tie the game.
Keuka College took the lead in the fifth inning.
Gabby Glanville walked for the Wolves and then promptly scored as
Hailey Jasinski hit her team-leading sixth home run of the season to give the Wolves a 4-2 advantage.
The Wolves added an insurance run in the seventh on an RBI single by
Grace Eagen. The lead was more than enough for
Lizzie Kocsis in the circle. The first-year pitched five innings of scoreless relief, allowing just two hits, as the Wolves completed the sweep, defeating Hartwick College 5-2 in the nightcap.

- Keuka College leveled the all-time series with Hartwick College at 4-4. The Wolves are undefeated against the Hawks in Empire 8 Conference games
- To go with her home run in game one, Flynn went the distance in the circle for the Wolves. She struck out six in the complete-game victory. Flynn moved into fifth on the career strikeouts list
- In game two, Hailey Jasinski was a triple short of the cycle to lead the Wolves. She recorded her 28th career double, moving to third on the career list
- Six home runs this season ties Morgan Engelbert for second-most in a season in program history. Engelbert hit six in the 2011 season. Jasinski also moves into a tie for fifth on the career home run list
- Haley Mascho and Giana Mruczek also recorded multiple hits in game two for the Wolves
- The five innings of relief were a career-high for Lizzie Kocsis as she earned her first career victory
Up Next for Keuka College: Sunday's doubleheader for Keuka College at Russell Sage has been postponed and will be made up on May 1 in Albany. The Wolves will be back in action on Tuesday, April 21 as Keuka College travels to Elmira College to face the Soaring Eagles in an Empire 8 Conference doubleheader.
