ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Keuka College Softball team lost at Nazareth University on Saturday in an Empire 8 doubleheader.
Keuka College (4-17, 2-10 Empire 8) lost the opener 12-2 and then fell in the nightcap 23-6.
In game one,
Olivia Flynn led off the game with a single.
Lindsay Stuck added a single. Two runs came in for Keuka on an error for the early lead.
However, the Golden Flyers answered with a run in the bottom of the inning and then took the lead in the third with a pair. Nazareth put the game away with nine in the fourth, defeating the Wolves in five innings.
The Wolves once again took the early lead with two runs in the top of the first in game two. A leadoff single for
Katie Landers started the game. She would score on an RBI double by
Lindsay Stuck.
Alexis Kopetchny then brought another run home with a single to make it 2-0.
The lead lasted until the second when Nazareth scored 11 runs. The Wolves answered back with four runs in the top of the third.
Parker Marshall was hit by the pitch with the bases loaded to force in a run. Then
Julia Spencer worked a walk to score another run.
Sienna Olney had an RBI single for the Wolves, and another run came home on an error as the Wolves cut the lead to 11-6.
Nazareth scored eight runs in the bottom of the inning to put the game out of reach. The Golden Flyers defeated the Wolves 23-6 in five innings to complete the sweep.
Keuka College will be back in action next weekend as they travel east for a pair of Empire 8 doubleheaders. The Wolves will play at Hartwick College on Saturday and then travel to Russell Sage College on Sunday.
