KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Lacrosse team fell to Allegheny College 16-6 in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.
Lainie Forde and
Liz Spin each scored two goals to lead Keuka College (1-1).
Rylie Pratt added a goal and an assist, while
Brooklyn Ayers finished with a goal and three assists for the Wolves.
Allegheny College 16 at Keuka College 6
Allegheny College (1-2) jumped out to a quick start, scoring four goals in the opening nine minutes to take early control. The Green and Gold responded midway through the first quarter as
Brooklyn Ayers put Keuka College on the board. Later in the frame,
Lainie Forde scored a shorthanded goal off a feed from
Rylie Pratt, but Allegheny added another late tally to hold a 6-2 lead after the opening period.
Keuka College battled back early in the second quarter. Forde converted on a player-up opportunity and
Liz Spin followed shortly after with another man-up goal to bring the Wolves within two at 6-4. However, Allegheny regained momentum with a strong finish to the half, scoring seven unanswered goals over the final ten minutes to build a 13-4 lead heading into halftime.
The Wolves found the net once in the third quarter as Spin scored her second goal of the game on a player-up opportunity. Keuka College's defense battled throughout the frame, but the Green and Gold entered the fourth trailing 13-5.
Keuka College added its final goal in the fourth quarter when Pratt scored on a player-up chance, assisted by Ayers. Allegheny answered with three goals in the period to seal the 16-6 victory over the Wolves.
