Altpeter Drives in Four for Keuka College at St. John Fisher

PITTSFORD, N.Y. — The Keuka College Baseball team lost at St. John Fisher University 18-5 in seven innings on Monday afternoon to close out their Empire 8 Conference series with the Cardinals.

Patrick Altpeter led Keuka College (4-12, 0-6 Empire 8) with a career-high four runs driven in. Altpeter plated a pair with a single and then hit a two-run home run for the Wolves on Monday.

St. John Fisher again got out to a fast lead over the Wolves as they carried a 7-0 advantage into the third inning. With two outs, the Wolves loaded the bases with a hit by pitch, a single, and an error. Altpeter then hit a single for Keuka to score two and make it 7-2.

The Cardinals added to their lead with four runs in each of the next two innings.

In the fifth with two outs, Evan Cuba singled, bringing Altpeter to the plate. The junior put a charge into the ball, driving it over the left field fence for a two-run shot. It was the first home run of his collegiate career.

The Wolves added a run in the sixth on a single by Alex Evans, but the game was in hand as the Cardinals defeated the Wolves 18-5.

Keuka College will continue their string of Empire 8 games on Tuesday as they travel to Elmira College to face the Soaring Eagles. The Wolves will then face Russell Sage College in a three-game series over the weekend.
