Keuka fell behind early as the Saxons opened the game on an 11–0 run, with the Wolves unable to convert on their first several possessions. Keuka finally broke through at the free throw line before beginning to settle defensively. Brooke Burd started to control the glass, pulling down multiple defensive rebounds to limit second chances. Natalee Collins and Jaidyn Chest helped slow the pace defensively, and Keuka held Alfred scoreless over the final stretch of the quarter. Offensively, the Wolves continued to work inside, but the early deficit remained as Keuka trailed 15–7 after one. The Wolves began to chip away in the second quarter. Emiley Anderson scored on consecutive possessions in the paint to cut into the lead, followed by a basket from Mary Cotter after an offensive rebound. Lillian Mullen added a jumper to bring Keuka within single digits, and Burd continued to anchor the defense inside. Keuka put together several stops in a row, allowing Anderson and Cotter to score in transition. A late basket from Mullen capped a closing run as Keuka outscored Alfred over the final minutes of the half, trimming the deficit to 29–27 at the break.
Keuka carried that momentum into the third quarter. Burd tied the game on a putback early in the period, and Anderson followed with a basket on the next possession to give the Wolves their first lead of the afternoon. The Wolves continued to apply pressure defensively, forcing empty trips and pushing the ball in transition. Mullen scored on back-to-back possessions during a stretch that extended the lead, while Collins and Chest combined to disrupt passing lanes and limit clean looks. Keuka won the quarter 19–12, taking a 46–41 advantage into the fourth. Alfred made several pushes in the final quarter, but Keuka answered each time. Cotter converted inside to maintain the lead before Anderson knocked down a key basket midway through the period. Burd continued to control the paint defensively, and the Wolves forced late shot clock situations on multiple possessions. With the lead trimmed to two in the closing minutes, Keuka responded with another basket from Mullen and closed out the game at the free throw line. The Wolves held Alfred to 10 points in the fourth quarter, sealing the 57–51 Empire 8 victory at home.
