Keuka College 65 vs. SUNY Brockport 62
The Golden Eagles held an early four-point advantage over the Wolves. Keuka took the lead back as Quinn VanKerkhove made a layup and followed it with a three for the Green and Gold. That was followed by a personal seven-point run by Lamar Lovelace as the Wolves scored 12 straight to take a 16-8 lead. Keuka College extended their lead to as many as 11 in the half. The Golden Eagles cut into that lead. In a one-point game six minutes before half, Lovelace hit a three for Keuka to push the margin back out. Brockport converted a pair of free throws just before the half, but the Wolves remained ahead 36-33 at the break.

Keuka College worked to put space between them and Brockport. A three by Akinlana Popoola was followed by a transition layup by Kaleb Nutifafa to give the Wolves a 10-point lead four minutes in the half. Brockport answered with an eight-point run, their largest of the game, over the next four minutes to make it a one-possession game. Chase Welch hit a second-chance three after Quinn VanKerkhove got the offensive rebounds to stop the run and give the Wolves a 51-46 lead. The Wolves would push the lead back out to seven, but Brockport got it down to two points following a bucket with 1:32 left to play. The Golden Eagles had the ball with 45 seconds left but went 1-2 from the free throw line to make it 63-62 in favor of the Wolves. Brockport stole the ball from the wolves but a layup with 4.9 seconds was off, and the ball went to Keuka. The Wolves were fouled and Akinlana Popoola made both free throws with 3.9 left on the clock. Brockport got a good look at a three to tie at the buzzer, but the shot was short as Keuka College defeated SUNY Brockport 65-62

KC Notes:
  • Keuka College earned their first win over SUNY Brockport since the 1988-89 season. It snapped a nine-game winning streak by the Golden Eagles and moved the all-time series to 4-10
  • Keuka College's defense stepped up in the second half, allowing just 29 points to Brockport and forcing three shot clock violations. Keuka was averaging 86.4 points in their other five wins, but earned the win on Tuesday with 65 points scored
  • The Wolves tied their season-high with 10 threes as a team. Lamar Lovelace and Chase Welch led the way with three apiece
  • Makya Morrison led the Wolves with 10 rebounds in the win
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves look to keep the momentum as they enter a road conference weekend in the Empire 8. Keuka College will have a pair of tough tests as the play at St. John Fisher on Friday night and then play at Nazareth University on Saturday.
