KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — Following her first weekend with the Wolves, Keuka College Women's Volleyball's Alessandra Castañeda was named the Empire 8 Conference Rookie of the Week.

Castañeda opened the weekend with 11 kills against MCLA. She would go on to hit double-digit kills in all four matches of the Keuka College Invitational. The first-year added four aces and nine digs against the Trailblazers.

Her weekend highs came in Keuka College's victory over SUNY Canton. Castañeda had 15 kills and added 14 digs in the win. She posted double-doubles with kills and digs in three of the four matches.

After one weekend, Castañeda is tied for the lead in the Empire 8 Conference with 49 total kills. She is averaging 3.06 kills per set, fourth-best in the league. She is also in the top 15 for digs in a set with 3.13 digs per set and fifth with 50 total digs.

The Wolves are back in action this weekend, playing in the North Country Invitational. Keuka College will play at St. Lawrence University on Friday and then play at Clarkson University and against SUNY Plattsburgh on Saturday.
