OSWEGO, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Volleyball team lost a pair of matches on day one of the Oswego State Invitational.
Keuka College (1-11) was swept in its first match of the day by Western Connecticut State and fell in straight sets again to host Oswego State in the nightcap.
Western Connecticut State 3 vs. Keuka College 0 – 25-10, 25-15, 26-24
Western Conn opened the first set strong, never trailing and allowing just 10 points. Keuka College struggled to find its rhythm, finishing with only one kill in the set.
In the second set, both teams traded points early and were tied 5-5.
Nina Scott had two early kills for the Wolves, followed by back-to-back kills from Alessandra Castañeda. Western Conn then went on a 20-10 run to take the set and build a 2-0 lead heading into the third.
In the third set, the Green and Gold trailed 15-10 before rallying with an eight-point run to pull even at 22. Keuka's comeback bid fell short, however, as back-to-back service and attack errors sealed the sweep for Westen Conn.
Oswego State 3 vs. Keuka College 0 – 25-23, 26-24, 25-14
The first set was back and forth, featuring 10 ties and six lead changes. Keuka held the largest lead at 10-6, but Oswego responded with a 5-1 run to even the score at 11. Neither team could pull away until the Lakers closed the set with a three-point run.
Much like the opener, the second set was tightly contested. The Wolves built an early 11-5 lead on a six-point run that included five straight points from
Nina Scott. Oswego rallied to tie it at 14 before Keuka regained control. The Lakers answered once again, however, using a 5-1 run to steal the set and take a 2-0 lead.
In the third, Oswego controlled play nearly the entire way and sealed the sweep with a seven-point run, holding Keuka to just 14 points.

- Nina Scott has surpassed 100 kills for the third consecutive season.
- The Wolves are now 1-6 against Oswego at the Oswego Invitational.
