Wolves Drop First E8 Game

ALBANY, N.Y. — The Keuka College field hockey team played on the road for their first conference game of the season against Russell Sage and lost 2-0.
 
Senior Tori Nelson (Vernon Center, N.Y. / Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) had three of the five shots for the Wolves in today's game.

In the first quarter, neither team was able to put points on the board. But Sage took more shots with three on goal compared to Keuka's one shot from first year Jaime Harrigan (Little Falls, N.Y. / Little Falls). Early in the second quarter, Sage struck first with to go up 1-0. In the closing minutes of the quarter, Nelson took a shot but couldn't find the back of the goal. To start the third, the Gators came out strong, taking two shots in the first two minutes. Sage took two more shots in the quarter while Nelson took the only shot for the Green and Gold. Early in the fourth, Sage scored their second goal of the game to go up 2-0. Senior Erika Coville (Spencer-Van Etten, N.Y. / Spencer-Van Etten) and Nelson each took a shot in the fourth quarter but couldn't put points on the board for the Wolves.

  • Wolves are now 4-3 all-time against Sage and 2-3 since both teams joined the Empire 8
  • Harrigan had the first start and took the first shot on goal of her young career today
