KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Basketball team defeated Penn College 77-66 at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center on Saturday afternoon.
Five Wolves scored in double figures for Keuka College (2-2).
Akinlana Popoola led all scorers with 16 points.
Lamar Lovelace and
Kaleb Nutifafa each scored 13 for the Wolves.
Makya Morrison and
Quinn VanKerkhove rounded out the scoring with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Keuka College 77 vs. Penn College 66
The Wolves opened the game with five straight points to give Keuka College the early lead. Penn College with seven straight of their own to take the lead. The first half would flip back and forth between the two teams with nine lead changes and three ties. Penn College would lead by as many as five in the first half, but a three by
Quinn VanKerkhove cut into the margin immediately.
Akinlana Popoola followed with a three of his own a Keuka took the lead with six minutes remaining. The Wolves look to carry a two-point lead into halftime, but Penn College hit a three in the final seconds to lead 30-29 at the break.
The Wildcats pushed their lead in the opening minutes, scoring six straight over the first minute to make it 36-29. The Wolves got on the board, but a three by Penn moved the lead to eight, their largest of the game. Keuka College made a move over five minutes midway through the second that took control of the game. The Wolves outscored Penn College 22-1 over the stretch while shooting 3-4 from deep. The game was in hand for the Wolves. Keuka College made their free throws down the stretch and kept distance between them and the Wildcats as the Wolves got their second win of the season.

- The Wolves remain perfect against the Wildcats, winning all nine of their meetings all-time
- Makya Morrison led Keuka College in rebounding with 10 boards for his first career double-double. He also collected the 100th rebound of his college career
- As a team, Keuka College was +12 in rebounding, holding a 49-37 advantage over the Wildcats
- Akinlana Popoola added three steals and five rebounds for the Wolves
- Most Wolves got their name on the scoresheet as 12 of the 13 that played in the game for Keuka recorded at least two points
