Keuka College Men’s Soccer Falls at Hartwick

ONEONTA, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Soccer team lost at Hartwick College 3-0 in an Empire 8 Conference game.

Tyler Spina set a new career-high with seven saves in goal for Keuka College (0-10, 0-5 Empire 8).

The Hawks took the early lead, scoring on their second shot in the fourth minute. The home team stayed on the attack, outshooting Keuka 12-0 in the frame. Tyler Spina made five saves for the Wolves, including a nice diving stop as Hartwick was on the break just before halftime. The game remained 1-0 in favor of the Hawks at the half.

Hartwick continued in control of the match in the second half. The Hawks doubled their lead in the 54th minute. The Wolves looked to get back in the game in the 68th minute as they got their first corner kick of the game. However, they were not able to capitalize and, on the counterattack, Hartwick scored to make it 3-0. Timothy Cowin got a late shot off for the Wolves, but it missed left. The Hawks closed out the 3-0 Empire 8 victory.

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will return to the Jephson Community Athletic Complex for five of the final six games of the season. Keuka College will start the five-game homestand on Wednesday, October 8 as they welcome Houghton University for a 4 p.m. game.
