Women's Lacrosse Falls in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Keuka College Women's Lacrosse lost to Nazareth University 13-5 on Wednesday afternoon.

Keuka College (1-11, 0-5 Empire 8) had two athletes score two goals each in the Empire 8 matchup. Brooke Bonetti (Seneca Falls, N.Y. / Mynderse Academy) and Tori Nelson (Vernon Center, N.Y. / Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) each added a pair of goals to the five goals scored by Keuka.

The Golden Eagles got out to an early lead, going up 5-0 in the first quarter.

After a draw control from Meghan Johnson (Newark, N.Y. / Newark), Brooke Bonetti scored just 44 seconds in the second quarter. The Golden Eagles answered with a goal but four minutes into the second frame, Tori Nelson scored on a free-position shot to get the Wolves on the board for the second time. With 6:24 left in the second quarter, the Wolves called a timeout. Just six seconds out of the timeout, midfielder Tori Nelson scored her second goal of the game. Nazareth went on to score two goals before the break and the game went into halftime with the Golden Eagles up 8-3.

Nazareth extended their lead out of the break, scoring two additional goals. With 3:32 left in the quarter, Katie Deatherage (Canandaigua, N.Y. / Marcus Whitman) scored the fourth goal of the game for the Wolves. The score was 10-4 going into the final quarter.

The Golden Eagles continued to control the game, scoring three goals in the fourth quarter. Junior Brooke Bonetti scored her second goal of the game to give the Wolves their final goal. The Golden Flyers went on to win 13-5.

First-year goalie  Lauren Vitello (Webster, N.Y. / Webster Schroeder) was credited with 10 saves in goal for Keuka.
