ELMIRA, N.Y. — The Keuka College Baseball team played their first Empire 8 Conference matchup on Friday afternoon.
Keuka College (1-13, 0-1 Empire 8) lost 11-1 in the first of a three-game series against the Elmira Soaring Eagles.

The Wolves left one base runner on in the top of the first but also kept the Soaring Eagles to no runs in the first inning. In the bottom of the first, starting pitcher
Jesse Capitano (Depew N.Y. / Depew) struck out three batters for all three outs.
While Keuka remained scoreless in the second, Elmira put up their first runs of the game with a three-run home run in the bottom of the inning.
Elmira added another run to their lead, but Keuka got one back in the top of the fourth. Leadoff batter,
RJ Murphy (Syracuse, N.Y. / West Genesee) hit a one-run homerun to start the inning. From there, the Soaring Eagles continued their success at the plate and won the game 11-1.
