HUNTINGDON, Pa.— The Keuka College Men's Lacrosse team beat Juniata College on the road 16-6 on Tuesday afternoon.
Keuka College (3-1) had nine different student-athletes contribute to the 25 points scored for the Wolves.
Harrison Root (Jefferson, N.J. / Jefferson Township) led the way for the Green and Gold with five goals.
Devon Gerhardt (Penn Yan, N.Y. / Penn Yan Academy) and
Matt Jerman (Liverpool, N.Y. / Liverpool) tied for the leading point scorer, each scoring six points for Keuka.

Keuka College got on the board early with two goals in the first three minutes of the game.
Devon Gerhardt found the goal first with an assist from
Matt Jerman and then the two Wolves turned around and scored again, this time Jerman scored with the assist from Gerhardt. The Eagles had an answer to the second goal and scored one minute later but that would be followed by two solo goals from Keuka by
Devon Gerhardt and
Dylan DeLucia (Waterloo, N.Y. / Waterloo). Juniata found the net once more before sending the game into the second quarter with the Wolves up 4-2.
In a man-up opportunity,
Harrison Root scored his first goal of the game in the first 12 seconds of the second quarter, from another Gerhardt assist. This would be the start of a hot streak offensively for the Wolves, they put up another three goals on the scoreboard and held the Eagles to zero during this frame. The teams headed to the break with the Wolves up 8-2.
The Eagles were the first to score coming out of halftime and would score three times in the third quarter, but the Wolves had answers to every point.
Devon Gerhardt,
Ian Rickard (Lockport, N.Y. / Lockport), and
Harrison Root all recorded goals in the quarter, and
Matt Jerman assisted two of them.
After an uneventful start to the final quarter, Keuka found their offensive rhythm again and scored five goals in a two-minute and 37-second span. During that time, Keuka also won all four faceoffs from both
Enrique Castillo (Newark, N.Y. / Newark) and
Frankie Rivera (Penn Yan, N.Y. / Penn Yan Academy). Juniata scored the last goal of the game, but the Wolves maintained their large lead and won 16-6.
KC Notes:
- Keuka is now 2-0 all-time against Juniata College. The Wolves won at home 9-5 over the Eagles last season
- Dylan Hoad (Bath, N.Y. / Bath-Haverling) made 15 saves in goal for the win and is tied for 7th on the all-time career wins list with 12 wins
- Enrique Castillo won 16 faceoffs and collected 14 ground balls for the Wolves. As a team, Keuka was 21-25 on faceoffs
- Robert Hill (Auburn, N.Y. / Auburn) held it down for the Keuka defense with five ground balls and three caused turnovers
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves are now off for two weeks on spring break. The Green and Gold will return to play on Tuesday, March 26 when Keuka will host Alfred State College from the Jephson Community Athletic Complex with a 4 p.m. start.
