Wolves Fall to Golden Flyers at Home

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Basketball team lost at home on Tuesday evening to Nazareth University 81-37 in an Empire 8 Conference game.

Sydney Brown led Keuka College (1-12, 0-5 Empire 8) with 13 points and four rebounds. Mary Cotter added eight points in the loss.

The Golden Flyers took a quick 6-0 lead over the Wolves. Mary Cotter got the Green and Gold on the board with an elbow jumper. Nazareth grew their lead in the quarter. Abby Flack found Sydney Brown for a three as the Wolves cut it to 22-9, but Nazareth responded with a three on the following possession. Nazareth led 27-9 after the first.

The Wolves got out to a fast start in the second. Caiden Crego drove to the basket for a layup on Keuka's first possession and Isabella Colon followed that with an offensive rebound and basket on Keuka's second possession. However, Nazareth would outscore Keuka 20-2 over the remaining nine minutes to lead 47-15 at the half.

Mary Cotter opened the third with a jumper for the Wolves, but the Golden Flyers responded with 12 straight. Nazareth led 63-22 after three.

The Wolves shot their best from the floor, shooting 31%, while scoring 15 in the final frame. Mary Cotter hit a three for the Wolves and Sydney Brown knocked down a pair on back-to-back possessions. Nazareth would see the game out for the 81-37 victory.

KC Notes: Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves are on the road this weekend for a pair of Empire 8 games. Keuka will play at Alfred University on Friday night. They will then travel to Elmira College to face the Soaring Eagles on Saturday afternoon.
