ALBANY, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Volleyball team bounced back from Friday's setback to defeat Russell Sage College in straight sets on Saturday morning.
Nina Scott led the Wolves with nine kills.
Ava Hubbard was right behind her with eight and
Camey Knapp added seven to give Keuka College (11-4, 1-1 Empire 8) the conference victory.
Keuka College 3 at Russell Sage College 0 – 25-19, 25-22, 25-23
The first set was tight until Keuka College converted five straight points, capped by an
Emma Sipos ace, to give the Wolves a 16-11 lead. Sage would cut into the lead but the Wolves maintained it for the rest of the set. A pair of Gator errors gave Keuka a 25-19 win in the opener.
The rotation with Sipos serving helped the Wolves again in the second. Keuka held a 10-9 lead and added five straight to push it to 15-9. Again, it was a Sipos ace to cap the run. Sage later had a run of their own to cut it to one, but a well-timed timeout ended the rally. Keuka scored three straight after the break to regain control. The Wolves took a 2-0 lead in the match by winning the second set 25-22.
Russell Sage looked to extend the match in the third set. The Gators held an 18-11 lead over the Wolves, but Keuka began to cut into it. A three-point run started it. They then had a four-point run to cut it to two. The Wolves would tie the match at 22-22. A kill by
Camey Knapp put the Wolves a point away from victory, and a final shot by Knapp ended it as Keuka College came back in the third set to win it 25-23 and sweep the match.

- Keuka College improves to 9-1 all-time against Russell Sage. Saturday was their third straight win over the Gators and the seventh three-set sweep for the Green and Gold in the series
- Casey Hunziker helped both the offense and the defense. The senior setter had 28 assists in the match and also led Keuka with 15 digs
- Emma Sipos added 13 digs to go with her pair of service aces.
Up Next for Keuka College: The schedule slows down a bit for the Wolves. Keuka College has a week until their next match when they host Houghton University at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Keuka College will look for payback against the Highlanders after Houghton beat them in four sets last season.
