Keuka College fell behind early in both the first and second sets against Houghton following large runs by the Highlanders. Houghton remained in control of the sets to take a 2-0 lead over the Wolves.

The third set would be tied 1-1, but Dayna Edholm hit the kill to give the Wolves the advantage and Keuka would not give it up in the third. It remained closed with Keuka never building more than a five-point lead, but the Wolves closed it out on a kill by Nina Scott to win the third 25-20 and extend the match.

The momentum carried with Keuka College as they scored the first six points of the fourth set. The Highlanders cut the lead to one multiple times in the frame, but Keuka never allowed them to tie the set. The Wolves closed out the fourth with five straight points. Casey Hunziker had a pair of aces during the run and the set was ended on a kill by Edholm as the Wolves forced a fifth set.

The fifth set was as close as it could be. The two teams traded the first ten points back and forth as it was 5-5. Keuka College forced the change-over with a Highlander error at 8-7. Houghton responded as the set would be tied 11-11. In total, there will be 12 ties and five lead changes in the fifth. One of those changes came as Keuka pushed three straight to take a 14-11 lead and serve for the match. Houghton responded, however with three straight of their own to tie the set at 14-14. The Wolves got a kill by Nina Scott to serve for the match and closed it out on a kill by Megan McCann as the Wolves won the fifth 16-14 to win the match 3-2.
